August 13th- Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon
Closer to the Metro area, who can pass up the Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon? Here are a few reasons why you should give it a try:
– Personal records count even if the run is down hill.
– The scenery can’t be beat: the certified course is (downhill) along Clear Creek
– Beer waiting for you at the end.
August 13th- The 811 Run in Arvada
If you can’t get out of town, but still want to get out there and race, join us for the 811 Run. The event helps get the word out about “Knowing what’s below- call before you dig.” It starts at 8:11 a.m., and the race fee? You guessed it: $8.11. Bring the family- even the furry ones- to this certified 5k at the Apex Center In Arvada.
August 21st- Fartlek 5k
This race isn’t officially about flautulence.
The Fartlek -“speed play”- in Swedish, 5K brings the “play like” attributes of this running jargon/training term into a fun family oriented 5K. The event features a 5K Run/Walk and a Fartlek zone (where we will capture the fastest speed play participants) and a fun post-event expo. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and kids in strollers need not be registered.
Race t-shirts are also not officially about cutting the cheese.
Sign up, then invite your friends, smelly or not.
August 21st – Cancer League of Colorado’s 20th Annual Race For Research 5K Run/Walk
A great event every year, this 5k not only raises money for cancer research but also hosts a pancake breakfast as well as a beer garden.
August 28th PH in the Park
Join the fun at City Park in Denver and run to support Pulmonary Hypertension research and awareness.
August 28th- Superhero Challenge 5k
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a race to benefit prostate cancer causes…. Capes are optional at the Superhero Challenge 5k! Join us for the fun at Washington Park at 9:00 a.m.
